Smartwatches & Wearables

Find the Right Wearable for Your Phone and Lifestyle

Wearable technology now covers far more than a watch. Some devices keep you connected with calls, messages and apps, some focus on workouts and sleep, and others put a virtual screen in front of your eyes. A good starting point is the phone you already use, because compatibility shapes which features you can actually use.

Shop Smartwatches by Type

• Smart watches: Smart watches put notifications, apps and activity data on your wrist, with GPS and LTE or GPS + Cellular options on selected models.
• Fitness trackers: Fitness trackers range from slim activity bands to sport watches built around steps, workouts and sleep.
• Kids watches: Kids watches include 4G calling and GPS models from brands such as imoo and SPACETALK, plus activity trackers and play watches. Calling and location features need a compatible SIM and parental setup.
• Bands and straps: Bands and straps refresh the look or fit of your watch. Match the band to the exact model and case size.

For immersive gaming and apps, browse VR headsets such as Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2 and HTC Vive. Some glasses and headsets need a compatible phone, PC or console, so check the system requirements first.

Features to Compare

• Phone compatibility: Apple Watch needs an iPhone, recent Galaxy Watch models need Android, and many other brands work with both through their own app.

• GPS and cellular: built-in GPS records runs and rides without your phone, while LTE or GPS + Cellular models need a compatible mobile plan.
• Battery life: varies by model and use, from daily charging on feature-rich smartwatches to longer intervals on many bands.
• Fit and durability: compare case size, weight and strap materials, and check the water resistance rating on the product page.

Smartwatches and Wearables FAQs

What is the difference between a smartwatch and a fitness tracker?

A smartwatch usually adds apps, notifications, calls and payments on selected models. A fitness tracker is typically slimmer and focuses on activity, workouts and sleep. Many devices sit in between, so compare the exact features.

Will a smartwatch work with my phone?

It depends on the watch. Apple Watch needs a compatible iPhone, recent Galaxy Watch models pair with Android phones, and brands such as Amazfit, Huawei and Fitbit use their own apps on both. Check compatibility on the product page.

Can a smartwatch make calls without my phone?

Only LTE or GPS + Cellular models, and only with a compatible mobile plan. Support for watch plans and eSIM varies by carrier. Bluetooth models make calls through your connected phone.

Can I rely on smartwatch health readings?

Wearables are designed for general wellness and fitness information. They are not a substitute for medical advice, so speak to a health professional about any health concerns.

Are smartwatches water resistant?

Water resistance varies by model and does not suit every water activity. Check the rating and the manufacturer's guidance on the product page before swimming or showering.

Do I need a special band for my watch?

Yes. Bands are made for specific models and case sizes, so match the band to your exact watch model, size and generation.
